Spiders and Scorpions
Arachnids hold our fascinations in multiple ways. Arachnids are featured in songs, poems, literature, movies, clothing, jewelry, rock bands and even as a superhero. Most of the fascinations with arachnids are about spiders but there are also a number of fascinations with scorpions. Spiders hold the imagination of both young and old alike during Halloween. Spiders adorn costumes, bags, doors and tables. It is the one time of the year in which homes are purposefully decorated with spiders and spider webs, hanging from walls, ceilings and banisters. The holiday meal features spider shaped foods and spiders perching upon cakes and pies, which are consumed with glee.
